Dog Afraid To Be Alone? Here Is A Program To Overcome This Dog Behavior Problem

Is your dog afraid to be alone? If your dog whines, begs, and barks, when you are gone it might be suffering from separation anxiety. This is not unusual in dogs, becasue they are pack animals and need to be part of a pack in order to feel secure.

This is completely opposite from cats which prefer to be alone.

If your dog is afraid to be alone start a program where you restrict him to one part of the house with a baby gate. Make him stay there by himself for a few minutes and slowly work up the amount of time he spends behind the gate. Once he is used to being in that area while you are out of site, practice like you are going to leave a few times to see if your dog is behaving better.
